Global technology analysis company Canalys has documented the state of the Chinese smartphone market. The company, which compiled a list of China’s domestic smartphone manufacturers, also announced the leader of the market. In the second quarter of 2024, vivo, which took the leadership seat with a 19 percent market share, became the best-selling phone brand in China with 13.1 million shipments.
In the same period last year, vivo recorded 11.4 million shipments with an 18 percent market share, while Oppo achieved the same values at that time. Now, vivo, which pushed Oppo to second place with a 16 percent market share, has become the market’s dominant. Honor ranked third on the list with 10.7 million shipments and 15 percent share, while Huawei ranked fourth with 10.6 million shipments and 15 percent share.
Xiaomi, the largest technology company that comes to mind when it comes to China, ranked fifth on the list with a 14 percent market share, while other brands had a market share of 21 percent. Apple’s place was seen as 14 percent.
The ranking was almost the same in the second quarter of 2023. Only Xiaomi seems to have dropped from fourth place to fifth place with a small difference. Huawei’s success here also deserves appreciation.
